Publication Ethics

The scholarly journal “Tourism Education” adheres to the principles of editorial and publishing ethics grounded in international standards of research integrity and in the shared responsibility of all participants in the publication process–authors, reviewers, editors, and the publisher.

The Editorial Office takes all necessary measures to prevent plagiarism, self-plagiarism, falsification, and fabrication of research data. All manuscripts submitted to the journal undergo mandatory originality checks using specialized plagiarism-detection systems. The minimum acceptable level of textual originality is at least 75%, unless different requirements apply to certain types of publications.

The journal does not allow the publication of materials containing unreliable data, unattributed borrowings, distorted research findings, or any form of academic misconduct. The Editorial Office ensures the regularity and timely publication of the journal in accordance with the approved schedule.

Each published article is accompanied by abstracts and keywords in Tajik, Russian, and English, ensuring openness of research results and their accessibility to the international scholarly community.

All manuscripts undergo mandatory double-blind peer review, in which the identities of authors and reviewers remain unknown to each other. Any manuscript submitted for review is regarded as a confidential document and must not be disclosed or used without the written consent of the Editorial Office.

Articles submitted for publication must:

  • correspond to the journal’s scope and research areas;
  • address the stated aims and objectives of the study;
  • be oriented toward a professional and academic audience;
  • demonstrate scientific novelty and practical relevance.

Published materials must constitute original, independent, and up-to-date research that has not been published previously and is not under consideration by other journals. When the works or ideas of other authors are used, appropriate bibliographic references must be provided.

Authors bear personal responsibility for the content of their submissions and must:

  • provide reliable and verifiable research results;
  • use only authentic facts and scientifically substantiated data;
  • acknowledge responsibility for the originality and validity of research conclusions;
  • avoid duplicate publication;
  • submit a manuscript that is not simultaneously submitted to other journals.

A manuscript will not be accepted for publication in the following cases:

  1. the topic and content do not correspond to the journal’s scope;
  2. absence of a references list (fewer than 10 sources);
  3. incorrect formatting of abstracts and keywords;
  4. poor quality of the scholarly apparatus or manuscript formatting;
  5. detection of plagiarism, self-plagiarism, or other violations of publication ethics.

International Principles of Publication Ethics

International scholarly communities and publishers follow standards aimed at:

  • preventing research falsification and distortion of findings;
  • ensuring transparency and objectivity of the peer-review process;
  • protecting copyright and intellectual property;
  • preventing conflicts of interest at all stages of publication;
  • ensuring equal and open access to scholarly information.

The journal “Tourism Education” shares and supports these principles, viewing publication ethics as an essential component of modern scholarship, increasing trust in research outcomes, and strengthening international academic cooperation.

The Editorial Office proceeds from the understanding that adherence to publication ethics contributes to the development of a sustainable scholarly environment in which research results serve the advancement of society, the economy, and education systems at national and international levels.
