Journal Policy
The scholarly journal “TOURISM EDUCATION” has been published since 2025 and is a peer-reviewed academic periodical founded by the Research Institute of Tourism and Entrepreneurship of the International University of Tourism and Entrepreneurship of Tajikistan.
The journal is registered with the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tajikistan (Registration No. 397/MJ-97, dated 8 January 2025) and is indexed in the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI) hosted on the platform of the National Electronic Library of the Russian Federation, which confirms its compliance with international standards for academic journals.
The journal’s primary mission is to disseminate and advance scholarly knowledge in tourism, entrepreneurship, economics, law, and related socio-economic disciplines, as well as to foster professional and academic discourse on pressing issues in the tourism industry, hospitality, sustainable development, and the “green economy”.
In view of the growing role of tourism as a strategic driver of socio-economic development in the Republic of Tajikistan, and the expansion of international cooperation in education, research, and entrepreneurship, the journal aims to integrate national research into the global academic community. Particular emphasis is placed on the exchange of experience among scholars from Tajikistan, the Russian Federation, and other countries.
The journal’s publication policy is based on the principles of scientific objectivity, academic integrity, openness, and an interdisciplinary approach. All manuscripts submitted to the editorial office undergo mandatory double-blind peer review, ensuring the high scholarly quality of published articles and adherence to international publication standards.
The journal publishes original research articles, analytical reviews, and findings from theoretical and applied studies in the following key areas:
- economics of tourism and entrepreneurship;
- management and marketing in the hospitality industry;
- sustainable development, ecological and ethnographic tourism;
- digitalization and innovation in tourism education;
- public–private partnership in tourism;
- legal foundations of entrepreneurial activity;
- socio-economic and institutional aspects of regional development.
The journal’s multilingual policy (publishing in Tajik, Russian, and English) is designed to broaden readership, increase citation impact, and integrate research outcomes into global scholarly networks.
The editorial board comprises leading scholars and experts from the Republic of Tajikistan, the Russian Federation, and other countries, with strong academic reputations and extensive experience in expert review. This ensures a high standard of scholarly assessment and alignment of published materials with current trends in research and practice.
Materials published in the journal present the results of focused research aimed at improving the economic, legal, and educational environment; developing human capital; introducing innovations; and enhancing the competitiveness of the tourism sector at both national and international levels.
The editorial office maintains that international research collaboration and cooperation among scholars from different countries enable a deeper understanding of contemporary challenges in tourism and entrepreneurship, and that the resulting findings gain not only local but also global relevance.
The policy of “Tourism education” is aimed at supporting scholarly initiatives, promoting academic culture, and building a professional research community. The editors are confident that the journal will become a sustainable academic platform for discussing current issues and will make a meaningful contribution to the development of national and international scholarship.
